About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Accounting Manager to join our team in Ottawa, ON

Reporting to the Controller - Commercial, the Accounting Manager is responsible for the consistent, timely and accurate completion of monthly financial results and for Halo Car Wash. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for ensuring processes and procedures are in place to safeguard the Company’s assets.

More specifically, your essential duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing and processing financial results at month-end, including reporting accurate results in a timely manner.
  • Creating and presenting monthly reporting packages to management.
  • Gathering and compiling sales data from the car wash system to present relevant and timely sales reports.
  • Presenting an accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Performing CAPEX analysis and forecasts.
  • Developing cash flow forecasts, monitoring bank covenants, and preparing reports.
  • Ensuring proper use of company systems, and implementation of recommended processes and controls.
  • Verifying the data in the operating system to make sure that it is reconciled with the general ledger.
  • Documenting standard operating procedures and training colleagues to ensure consistency.
  • Reviewing and mapping internal processes, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Identifying and maintaining operational reporting requirements.
  • Establishing key performance indicators, reviewing internal controls and mapping them, and validating reporting data.

More About You

To qualify for this role, you must have a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting or equivalent business experience and 5 + years of experience in an Accounting & Reporting role. You must have or be working towards completing a CPA designation

In addition, the following experiences and skills would be critical for the role:

  • Highly proficient in Excel at an intermediate or advanced level.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Can adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of visual basic, SQL and PowerPoint (asset).
